Willifred Marion "Willie" Rouse, Sr.

Willifred Marion “Willie” Rouse, Sr., 87, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Vidant Duplin.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Rouse Sr. and Dorothy Rouse; wife, Jean Rouse; brothers, Weldon Rouse, Forrest Rouse Jr,. Ernie Rouse, Carrie Outlaw and Marvin Rouse.

Willie was a member of Friendship Free Will Baptist Church where he was faithful and dedicated to serving Christ.  Willie was a Ruritan member where he received Ruritan “Man of the Year” many times.  He retired from Dupont with over 40 years of service.   Willie loved his Albertson community and was always there when needed.  He was especially known for his ‘fish stew’ at the annual Stewfest and Fox Hunt.  Willie will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be held at Friendship Free Will Baptist Church on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.  with visitation following.   The burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Westview Cemetery in Kinston.

Willie is survived by his children, JR Rouse, Sandra Rouse Dixon and husband Melvin, Linda Rouse Murphy and husband Morris, Steve Rouse and wife Karen; grandchildren, Jamie Rouse and wife Samantha, Jennifer Murphy Sumner and husband Monty, Jeremy Rouse, Justin Murphy and wife Julie, Jessica Rouse and husband Cody, Kayla Dixon Bradshaw, Trent Thigpen and wife Brooke, Jake Rouse, Mackenzie Rouse; and 15 great-grandchildren.  Willie also leaves behind his sisters, Edna Smith and Ellie Latimer and husband Spike; sister-in-law, Linda Rouse; brothers, Julius “Spot” Rouse, Julian “Bob” Rouse and David Rouse and wife Amy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Free Will Baptist Church, 1219 Bill Sutton Road, Pink Hill, NC 28572.
