Vernon Tyndall, 85, died on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.
Vernon served in the United States Army during the Korean War, retired from Dresser Industries of Alexandria, LA; following his retirement he managed Maxwell Mill Campground in Pink Hill for four years; he was also a member of Solid Rock Independent Church in Potters Hill.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Pink Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be held immediately following the service.
Vernon was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Ball, sisters, Thelma Boyette, Ruth Gibbs and Rachel “Boogie” Tripp; brothers, Donald and Kenneth Tyndall.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nellie Carolyn Hines Tyndall; children, Lavonda Koons and husband Pastor Richard Koons of Merkel,TX, their daughter, Brookie Danyelle Torrence and husband Sean Torrence of The Colony, TX; Benny Tyndall and wife Lori of Pink Hill and their children, Jennifer, Kristen, Baylee and Dylan Tyndall; Sonya Gunter of Alexandria, LA and her children, Ashley Tam and husband Curtis of Pineville, LA, and Corporal Benjamin Chase Gunter of the USMC, Camp Pendelton, CA; Curtis Tyndall and wife Kristy of Alexandria, LA and their children, Travis and Gracie Lazarone; Jessica Herring and husband Milton ”Runt” of Mount Olive and their children, Mallory and Madison Herring; great –grandchildren, Zachary, Gracie and Eli Torrence, Everly and Beckham Tyndall, Landry and Lawson Tam; sisters, Naomi Garvey of Wallace and Ruby Lee “Bunny” Quinn of Beulaville.
