Shannon Grace Sutton
Shannon Grace Sutton, 45, went into the arms of her Lord and the loving arms of her parents on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.
Shannon was a loving person with a servant’s heart. She loved her family with a passion, worried about them and kept constant check on them. She loved her parents and missed them every day since they left this earth.
Shannon was a teacher at Wayne Preparatory Academy in Goldsboro. She loved the staff and students that she worked with.
She loved all pets especially her two dogs, Sparky and Missy and her cat Maddie.
Most of all she loved her Lord and believed in the power of prayer. She never slept until her devotions were complete and prayers were said.
Shannon is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edna Sutton and sister Carolyn Bautista.
Left to cherish her memory are sisters: Gail Jernigan and Jean Benson (Charles) of Kinston and Darlene Aldridge; her beloved nieces and nephew: Jennifer Applegarth (Brian) of Kinston, Chuck Benson (Holly) of New Bern and Hollie “DeeDee” Jernigan of Jacksonville and nephews, Juan Bautista and Martin Bautista.
She could always be found among the great-nieces and nephews playing and she loved them dearly: Cameron Minyard, Briana Applegarth, Carley-Grace Roddy, Maddie Applegarth, Landon Benson, Taylor Benson and Preston Benson.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Pink Hill Funeral Home with the funeral following at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home of her sister, Jean Benson in Kinston.
