Russell “Rusty” Eugene Hill, 64, of Kinston, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 5th, 2022, at home with his family. Rusty was diagnosed with frontotemporal disorder (FTD) about three years ago. He worked, lived, and raised his three children locally, and was a well-known member in the community and area. Rusty was known by many through his years of work in the automotive parts industry and through his gospel music ministry. Rusty loved life, his family, and anything that brought the two together. If he was not working or serving the Lord, you could find him in or near the water, most likely on his boat. He loved anything that went fast and he could ride in, and had many experiences in cars, boats, helicopters, and many more. To find out about them, all you had to do was ask, and he would quickly divulge his latest fun story or childhood memory to keep you entertained. He enjoyed making people’s day bright and helping them in any way he could, but never made a big deal about it. His heart for his family, friends, and community are what kept him moving forward his whole life.

Rusty leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Winnie Hill, his three children: Brandon Hill of Beulaville, NC, Tiffany Arthur of Greenville, NC, and Courtney Rubio and husband Luis of Pink Hill, NC. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren, who he loved dearly: Savannah Hill, Charlotte Hill, Madison Hill, Sophia Rubio, Lily Rubio, Rylin Arthur, Nathaniel “Nate” Rubio, and baby girl Rubio. He also has three siblings: sister Faye Carraway and husband Randy of Grifton, NC, brother Fred Hill and wife Drema of West Virginia, and sister Janice Rouse of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas and Ann Hill of LaGrange, NC, as well as his younger brother, Harold Hill, also of LaGrange, NC.

If you would like to help us celebrate and honor our husband, father, brother, and friend, visitation services will be held Friday, February 11th, 2022, at 6 pm with a service to follow at Pink Hill Funeral Home at 1056 NC-11, Pink Hill, NC 28572. Graveside services will be held at Maxwell’s Family Cemetery in Albertson on Saturday, February 12th, 2022, at        10 am.
