Paula Hazel (Flynn) Uhlir

Paula Hazel Flynn Uhlir, 69, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. Paula was born to Paul A. Flynn and Joyce S. Jackson on May 18, 1955.

Paula spent her life caring for her family. Children were her greatest joy. She worked as a day care provider and later with Duplin County Schools. Upon retirement, she became a full time Grandma, her life calling. Paula was loved by all that knew her. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, and genealogy but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was a member of Smith’s Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother Joyce S. Jackson and her fathers, Paul A. Flynn and Woodruff S. Jackson.

Paula is survived by her husband, Robert Uhlir of Pink Hill;  four children, Christina Miller and husband Thad Miller of Beulaville, Alicia Brown and husband Jason of Pink Hill, Jerri Ann Britt and husband Ted of Evergreen, and James Uhlir and wife Tonya of Pink Hill; brother, Bruce Jackson and wife Angela of Pink Hill.

Paula was blessed with nine grandchildren: Isla and Everett Miller, Morgan and Madison Brown, Jackson and Grayson Britt, and Emily, Olivia, and Skylar Uhlir.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Pink Hill Funeral Home.  Visitation will follow the service.  Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill.
