Paul Addison Elmore, 60, passed away on Sunday, April 28 at Novant New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington surrounded by his family after a long battle with MSA.. He is the son of Albert and Bette Howard Smith of Emerald Isle and the late Robert R. Elmore.
Paul was a 1982 graduate of South Lenoir High School and a 1986 graduate of St. Andrews Presbyterian College. He was a Property Manager with Vernon Park Mall, Whaler Inn and St. Regis and was the Director of Food Services and Environmental Services at Onslow Memorial in Jacksonville for 20 plus years.
Paul is survived by his brother, Glenn Elmore (Jessica) and niece Lydia Elmore (Jordan); two step-brothers, Chris and Tim Smith; partners in life, Keith Craig and his son Logan, Robert Stotesbury and daughters Brittany, Chelsea, and Brandi and his two boxer children, Sadie-Mae and Sophie-Rose and honorary mother, Lucille Houston. He is also survived by his cousin, Louis Howard (Megon) and family; aunt, Nancy Gladson and son Howard Gladson and family; uncle, Cecil Howard Jr. (Ruth) and aunt, Zeljka Howard and cousins, Lori Howard and Wade Howard. Paul is also survived by numerous Elmore cousins and their families and a host of special friends that he loved dearly.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Pink Hill Funeral Home. A private committal will be held at a later date.
