Nellie Carolyn Hines Tyndall, 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Vidant Duplin surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Levy Tyndall and daughter, Tonya Ball.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Pink Hill Funeral Home followed by the Memorial Service at 11.
Nellie was a daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and Mawmaw to many.
She is survived by her children, Lavonda Koons and husband Richard of Mesquite, TX, Benny Tyndall and wife Lori of Pink Hill, Sonya Walker and husband Hugh of Pineville, LA, Curtis Tyndall and wife Kristy of Otis, LA, and Jessica Herring and husband Milton “Runt” of Mount Olive, son-in-law, Bud Ball of Kinston; grandchildren, Brooke Koons Torrence and husband Sean, Ashley Gunter Tam and husband Curtis, Cpl. Benjamin Chase Gunter and wife Jeri, Jennifer Tyndall and significant other, Brian Horrell, Kristen Tyndall and fiance’ Zach Johnson, Baylee Tyndall and fiancé, Bryant Ferrell, Dylan Tyndall, Travis Lazarone, Gracie Lazarone, Mallory Herring and Madison Herring; great-grandchildren, Zachary Torrence and fiancee’ Morgan Hartley, Carolyn and Eli Torrence, Beckham, Brycen and Bennett Tyndall, Landry, Lawson and Layton Tam and Everly Tyndall; and sister, Vicki McCausley.
Nellie Carolyn Tyndall was known for her kind soul and Christ-like spirit. She had the ability to make you feel like family and was always quick-witted -even in her last days. To know her was to love her.
Nellie had many talents. She was a quilter, old-timey chocolate cake baker, crafter, antique collector, biscuit maker, homemade fried chicken and pastry maker and many other things.
But most of all, she loved the Lord and raised her children to know him too. In her final days, she took comfort in knowing her children would see her again.
