Nancy Branch Smith, 81, passed away at Kitty Askins on Friday, February 20, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Amos Branch Sr. and Mary Louise Branch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ryan Smith; grandson, Tyler Smith; siblings, Jesse Amos Branch Jr., Jerrold Wayne Branch, James Michael “Mike” Branch, Robert Harrell Branch, Alva Franklin Branch, Jane Branch Beddard , Rosalyn Reese” Rose” Branch and sister-in-law, Margaret Bass.
Nancy retired from Dupont. After retirement, she started an Outreach Program. organized a food pantry and was a volunteer at ECU Health Duplin. Nancy loved to travel and visited all 50 states.
Nancy is survived by her children, Hope Koonce (Richard), Ryan Jr. “Buddy” Smith (Jamie), Jason Smith, Mitchell Smith (Pam), and Michelle Seago (Jason). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Courtney Grant, Kendra Morley, Olivia Hall, Perry Smith, Harley Koonce, Kali McLeod, Kelsey Smith, Mollie Koonce, Hannah Smith, Addyson Seago, Micheal Reaves, Makenzie Davis and Miatta Davis .16 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Mary Keene.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, February 22,2026 at Pink Hill Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Pink Hill Funeral Home with burial following at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill.
