Robert Earl Jones, 82, and Marjorie Ann Jones, 76, left their earthly home and entered their eternal home together on September 25, 2024.
Robert Earl was born March 23, 1942 in Jones County. He was a country boy and loved to fish. He also loved to play his guitar with family and friends. He loved his family dearly and always looked out for them. His grandbabies were his eyeballs and Margie was the love of his life – his first love.
Margie was born May 31, 1948 in Onslow County. She was the life of the party and would tell the funniest jokes! She often talked about up “North” as she would say and her days as a beautician. She had the most amazing voice and would often sing in church while Robert Earl was playing his guitar. She loved drawing and giving gifts to others. She also loved her family, those grandbabies and her fur babies.
Margie and Robert Earl were together for 33 years and their families became one. They are survived by their son, Robert Earl “Robbie” Jones Jr. (Dina); daughter, Heather Grady (Robbie); stepdaughter, Tabitha Jones (Bryan); grandchildren, Robin Jones (Sidney), Haven Faith Grady “Jenny Lynn”, Simon Bright IV, Austin Bright, Christian Bright, Kaleb Miller “Shortlegs”, and Hayden Miller; great-grandchild, Olivia Jade “BooBoo” Koonce and a special foster grandchild.
Robert Earl was preceded in death by his parents, George Franklin and Retha Mae Jones; Jake Ray Jones (Sue), Johnny “Tink” Jones (Linda); and sister, Hazel “Coot” Howard (Ralph). He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Grace Baysden (George).
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Swannie Bell Humphrey and Carlton Lewis Humphrey and brother, Roger Humphrey. She is survived by her sisters, Iola Taylor (Ken) and Kay Minton, Libby Humphrey and brother, Ben Humphrey (Debbie).
Robert Earl and Margie are also survived by many nieces and nephews and their special fur babies.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Pink Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Pink Hill Funeral Home with burial following at the Jones Philyaw Cemetery, Trenton.
