Louis Henry Howard

Louis Henry Howard, 80, passed away suddenly at his home in Kinston, NC on April 10, 2023. He was born on December 14, 1942, in Lenoir County, NC, and attended Deep Run High School. Louis and Susan were married on July 30, 1965 and were later sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 30, 1966. He retired from IBM after 30 years of service.

Louis was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served His Savior, Jesus Christ, and members of the ward in many areas, but most of all he loved working in Family History for years trying to help tie families together forever. The Boy Scouts were also on the top of his list, always eager to take them camping.

Louis had many hobbies including fishing, genealogy, working in the yard, and piddling in the workshop.

Louis was predeceased by his daughter, Katherine Howard, parents, Joe and Reba Howard, infant sister Mary Magdalene Howard,  granddaughter Mary Catherine Howard, brother, Richard Howard, as well as his sister Alice Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Susan Hill Howard; his son Aaron (Jimi) Howard of Wilson, NC; daughters Debra Howard of Halifax, PA, Charlotte (Paul) Corey of Kinston, NC, and Elizabeth "Bizzie" Howard of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren Courtney (Shane), Morgan (Jake), Lauren, Heidi, Katherine (Grady), Jordan, Alyssa and Bradleigh; as well as great-granddaughter Harper with another one on the way.  He is also survived by his sisters Sylvia Tyndall of Snow Hill, Lacy Stevens of Illinois, and Goldie Dennison of Utah.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Pink Hill Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Woodington Ward with burial following at the Howard Family Cemetery.
