Glenda “Kay” Davis-Brown, 84, of Pink Hill, NC, went home to be with Jesus on the afternoon of June 18, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William McKinley Connor and Mamie Willie Connor. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wayland Thomas Davis, Sr., and her second husband, Donald Ray Brown.
She is survived by her sons, Wayland Thomas Davis, Jr. “WT” and wife Lynn, and Jeffrey Lynn Davis “Jeff” and wife Cindy, both of Pink Hill. She is also survived by children; Gail Brown Allen and husband Gary, Donald Ray Brown Jr. “Don” and wife Sylvia, and James Walter Brown “Jimmy” and wife Heather.
Kay was a beloved grandmother to Wayland “Scott” Davis and wife Kaitlyn, Connor Wood Davis and wife Ashley, Jeffrey “Trent” Davis and wife Haley, and Tori Gray Davis. She is also survived by her beautiful great-grandchildren; Adalyn Blair, Hazel Grace, Wayland Kasen, Lena Reece, Greyson Liam, and Marley Rae.
Kay was born and raised in Deep Run, NC. She graduated from Deep Run School in 1959 and was part of the first class of the nursing program at James Sprunt in 1973. As an operating room nurse first and health occupations teacher second, leading many to discover their calling in the healthcare field.
She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, whom she held close to her heart. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Over the years, Kay enjoyed crafts, floristry, and baking and decorating cakes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pink Hill Funeral Home on Saturday, June 21st at 6:00 p.m., with visitation to follow. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial, Pink Hill.
