Juanita W. Harper of the Albertson community in Duplin County passed from this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. She was 92 years old. Juanita is survived by her son, Randy and his wife Melissa of Mount Olive, NC; her daughter Karen Harper Walker and her husband David of Greenville, NC; and her daughter Kimberly also of Greenville. Juanita spent the last years of her life living under the care of Kimberly and Karen in Greenville.
Juanita was blessed to be a grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her grandchildren, Brittany Walker Edwards, Courtney Walker Daltroff, Meagan Harper Coleman, Savannah Harper, Brooke Walker Austin, Zoie Harper, Lynn R. Harper II, and Claire Harper. Juanita’s great grandchildren are, Thomas Edwards, Evelyn Edwards, Annalise Edwards, Harper Austin, Joseph Daltroff, and Elizabeth Daltroff.
Juanita will be best remembered as a homemaker where she cooked healthy, filling dinners during tobacco barning season, celebrated Thanksgiving with her signature Turkey Dressing and Christmas with her husband Lynn’s favorite, Coconut cake, and homemade Martha Washington candy.
Juanita was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and her church home was the Albertson Ward of the Church. Over the course of her religious life she served in many capacities in the Church, from lay leader in the women’s group, The Relief Society, to Sunday school teacher.
Juanita was preceded in death by her dearly beloved husband, Lynn Harper, to whom she was married for nearly 60 years. Her mother and father, Nettie Reddick Wray and Raymond Wray, a younger brother, Otho Douglas, and her beloved sister, Harriet Thompson.
Juanita’s family will receive friends and family beginning at 10:00 am Saturday morning, October 25, 2025 at the Albertson Ward Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3554 NC111/NC903, Albertson, NC. A celebration of life ceremony will be held immediately following at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Pink Hill Mausoleum in Pink Hill, NC.
