Jobe Thigpen Jr (Butch) was born in Pink Hill, NC. . Butch passed away at Vidant Health in Kenansville, NC from COVID-19 complications on October 9, 2021 at 61 years old. He will always be remembered for his kind heart. Those that knew him well knew he loved to help others, play pool, race cars, spend time with his family and root for the Chiefs football team.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jobe and Lillie Thigpen; brothers, Marvin, Furnie “Red”, Sam, Horace, Morris, and Billy Thigpen; sisters, Ella Mae Futrell, and Lilly Ruth Jenkins.
Butch is survived by his wife, Lisa Hyman Thigpen; sister Doris Hoffman; brother, Burnie Thigpen; sons, Timothy Jobe (TJ) Thigpen, and Brandon Thigpen; step--son, Anthony and wife Lindsey Whitley; step-daughters, April and husband Brian Schrage, and Molly Braxton and fiancé Elmore; God children/grandchildren Jeremiah, Destiny, and Elijah Jones; a close nephew that has been by his side, Chris Thigpen and wife Lisa Thigpen and 17 grandkids.
Graveside services will be held at the Maxwell Cemetery in Albertson on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Steve Dixon officiating. Visitation and viewing will be held at the cemetery from 12:00-1:00 pm before the services. Pink Hill Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
