Janie Hobgood Turner

Janie Hobgood Turner, age 93, died Monday, September 19, 2022, in Charlottesville Va.  A former resident of Pink Hill, N.C., she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Hugh C. Turner, and her son Hugh C. Turner, Jr.

She is survived by daughter, Mary T. Dalton of Burlington, N.C.; son James M. Turner of Alexandria, Va.; and daughter, Celia J. Lankford and her husband, Glenn, of Charlottesville, Va.  Her five grandchildren are Jane Dalton McCarthy (husband Sean), Margaret Dalton Sebren (husband David), Daniel Lankford, Sarah Dalton Arrington (husband David), and Jason Lankford (wife SueEllen).  She is also survived by four great-grandsons; nephew, Tommy Hobgood; niece, Donna Hobgood Robertson; and nephew Wayne Hobgood.

A visitation will be held at Pink Hill Funeral Home on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Pink Hill United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to the foundation of your choice or to Martha Jefferson House, 1600 Gordon Ave, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
