Janice Noble Barwick

Janice Noble Barwick, 89, of Deep Run, passed away December 10, 2024 at Spring Arbor Memory Cottage in Kinston.

Janice was a lifelong resident of the Deep Run community. She graduated from Deep Run High School in 1953 and Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina in 1957. She was a member of Noble’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Janice married Morris Barwick in 1957 and together they farmed for 63 years. Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Morris, her parents, Paul G. Noble, Sr. and Helen Spivey Noble, and her brother, Paul G. Noble, Jr.

She is survived by their children: Melanie McCoy (Jack), Dale Babauta (Michael), Rose Hardy (William), and Jeff Barwick (Donna). The lights of her life were her grandchildren: Jessica McCoy (Hugo Mora), Jordan Spanner (Brian), Tyler McCoy, Amanda Hardy (Eric), Maria Elizondo (Mario), Angelica Bland (Patrick), Will Hardy, Matthew Babauta, and Nicole Fletcher (Charles). She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Ava, Giovani, Olivia and David Elizondo, Mac and Beatrice Spanner, and Peyton and Lincoln Hardy. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Rouse, and several nieces and nephews.

The family is eternally grateful to Spring Arbor and Gentiva Hospice for their devoted, attentive care.

Funeral services will be held at Pink Hill Funeral Home at 1 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024 with burial following at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duke Children’s, 300 West Morgan Street, Durham, NC 27701 or the charity of your choice.

A reception will be held following the Interment.  Everyone is welcome to visit with the family at:  Olivia's Catering, 110 East Caswell Street, Kinston, NC (from 3:30-5:30 p.m.)
