Hugh Curtis "Shorty" Herring

Hugh Curtis “Shorty” Herring, 72, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Signature Health Care in Kinston.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertie Marie Herring Stroud; grandfather, Charlie James Herring; grandmother, Della Malpass Herring and aunt, Pauline Herring.

Hugh is survived by his sisters; Susan Stroud, Shirley Price, Peggy Hill and Betty Rouse.  He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Hugh was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints (Kinston Ward) and was baptized on May 17, 1981. 

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
