Obituary
We regretfully announce the passing of Hugh Frank Benton, who passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 12, 2023. His memory will live forever in our hearts.
Mr. Benton was the son of Jesse E. Benton and Julia Carter Benton of Lagrange, NC. He was a U.S. Navy Honor Guard in Washington, D.C. and was stationed on the U.S.S. Missouri between the years of 1945 and 1950. Mr. Benton retired from the state working for Lenoir County as a school bus mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Jenice Davis and son Jesse Steven Benton; brothers Malcom Benton and John Pete Benton; sisters Dora Wagstaff, Bernice Civils, and Evelyn Hatch.
Mr. Benton is survived by his sons Hugh Benton and Billy Benton. Grandfather of 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, 11 am at Ash Davis Cemetery.
