She served as a Relief Society President along with many other positions throughout her life. Hilda retired from Caswell Center where she loved working with and serving the residents. She was an extremely talented woman and her hands were rarely still. She made beautiful quilts, flower arrangements, dolls, curtains and clothing. She loved antiques and refinished furniture. She was skilled in caning chairs. She had many hobbies such as painting, cross stitching, and ceramics. Her home was as beautiful outside as it was inside as she enjoyed landscaping her yard and flower garden. Hilda was a great cook and will be especially remembered for her delicious biscuits. Her true passion was family history and genealogy. She spent many hours researching her family tree, traveling to courthouses for documents and visiting cemeteries for dates to ensure she had accurate information.
