Obituary
Harry Louis Hargrove, 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at UNC Lenoir. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Thelma Hargrove; daughter, Brenda H. Harris; grandsons, Blaine and Tyler Hargrove; brothers, Larry, Gary and Jarry Hargrove; and sister, Clarry Omelia.
Harry served his country in the United States Army for over 20 years. He served multiple tours in Vietnam where he was a Purple Heart recipient as well as receiving a Bronze Star with valor.
Harry is survived by his son, Jamie Hargrove and wife Lorrie; grandchildren, Hailey Gortman, Brooke Hargrove, Brailey Hargrove, Kelsey Harris, and Shane Harris; brother, Darry Hargrove and wife Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for SFC Harry Louis Hargrove with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Scott Cemetery, Bennetts Bridge Road, Mount Olive, NC. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Darry Hargrove, 423 Bennetts Bridge Road, Mount Olive, 28365
