Obituary

Emma Lee (Gooding) Ball, 89, of Deep Run passed away to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 7, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John Stephen Gooding and Nettie Mae Miller Gooding; husband, Avery Lee Ball; daughter, Glenda Nettie Ball Mills and son, Charles Clifton Ball.

Emma is survived by her daughter, Ruby Ball Houston; son, Avery Lee Ball Jr. (Sue); grandchildren, Jason Ball (Holly), Joe Ball (Stacey), Mike Whaley (Angela), Jordan Houston; great-grandchildren, Hannah Ball, Emma Ball and Ava Ball.

Emma loved her family and always enjoyed their visits with her.  She loved to read, crochet and work in her flowers and garden.  Her favorite flowers were roses and sunflowers.  Emma was a hard-working lady that held her family together.  She was a dedicated Caswell employee and retired with 27 years of service.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints Woodington Ward.

Special thanks to Ruby Houston, Sue Ball, Carolyn Tyndall (Timmy), and Debbie Whitler for taking such good care of Emma.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill with Elder Thomas Heath officiating.
