Eloise (Howard) Hemby

Frances Eloise Howard Hemby, 88, of Kinston, NC went to be with the Lord on Saturday July 24, 2021.

Eloise was born on September 26, 1932 in Lenior County, NC to the late Amos and Bertie Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rogers Worth Hemby and her brothers Horace (Loretta), Harold (Evelyn), Haywood (Dorothy), Houston (Mary Ella), Lenny (Eleanor), Hallet (June) and Henry Clay; sisters Verna, Verdie (Ed), Versie (Ed), Jeannette (Winford) and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Stroud. She is survived by her son Larry Stroud of Winston-Salem, NC; daughter Cheryl Howell (Larry) of Walkertown, NC; granddaughters Jennifer Lowe (Kevin) of Kernersville, NC, Raegen Autry (Bryan) of Kernersville, NC, Mindy Fulton (Tayler) of Walkertown, NC; grandsons Justin Howell of Indian Trail, NC, Jonathan Goard of Winston-Salem, NC and great-grandsons Matthew and Davis Lowe of Kernersville, NC and Jaxson and Conner Fulton of Walkertown, NC, and a plethora of precious nieces of nephews.

Eloise, a retired beautician, spent her retirement years continuing to share her talents in her ministry playing the piano at the VA Hospital, local retirement homes and assisted living facilities. She was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Kinston where she served as church pianist for many years. Elosie loved the Lord and was a true and faithful servant.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 12:30 pm at Pink Hill Funeral Home (1056 NC-11 Pink Hill, NC 28572). Family will receive friends prior to the service at 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park (985 NC-11, Pink Hill, NC 28572).
