Albertson - Dorine Rouse Williams, 84, of Albertson passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Katie Rouse; her husband, L.E. Williams; her sisters Gail Croom and Verona Thompson; and her son, David Martin Williams.
Dorine’s passion for education was apparent from a young age. After attending Deep Run School from the first through the twelfth grades, she attended East Carolina University, where she earned her Bachelors’ Degree in Education (math). She returned to Deep Run where she taught in the same building at South Lenoir High School for thirty-two years.
Her kindness and generosity stretched far beyond education. She was a founding member of the Grady-Outlaw Memorial Library in Albertson. For over thirty years she was the biscuit maker for the annual Albertson Fox Hunt fund raiser for the local Volunteer Fire Department and Ruritan Club.
As a life-long member of Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, she was a dedicated servant to the Lord and strived to help others, no matter the circumstances. Her un-selfishness has touched lives that will never know who she was.
We would like to thank the staff at Magnolia Cottage Care for their kind and loving care in the latter stages of her life. We would also like to express our endless gratitude to the ladies who cared for her in her home. The love and compassion they have shown for her enriched her life and created friendships that she cherished tremendously.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Lloyd Rouse (Deborah); son Mark Williams (Angie), grand children Meagan Wood (Pete), Hillary Willoughby, and Lyndsay Williams. Great-Grandchildren Ashton Jarman, Marybeck Sanderson, and Brayden Willoughby. Also, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Pink Hill Funeral Home. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the funeral home followed by interment at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
