Dennis Ray Howard

Dennis Ray Howard, 64, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Greendale Forest in Snow Hill.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Ray and Arlene Howard.

Dennis enjoyed playing the piano for many years for different gospel groups including: The Wilburns, The Jenkins Family, The Singing Samaritans, The Brill Brothers, The Horrell Family and The Anchormen.  Dennis is well-known for his amazing floral work.  He was the founder, owner and operator of the Heritage House Florist for 37 years at 2 locations in Kinston and 2 in Pink Hill, from which he retired in March of 2020.

Dennis is survived by his friend and companion for 20 years, Jay Murphy; his sister, Pam Howard and his special canine companion, Nicholas.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Pink Hill Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 with Entombment following at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill.
