Dean Sutton Harper, 78, of 227 Longview Drive, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Greendale Forest Nursing Home in Snow Hill. Dean was retired from Caswell Center and Howells Childcare. She was a member of New Vision Outreach Ministry.
Dean was preceded in death by her husband James “Bill” Harper, parents, Roger L. Sutton and May Harper Sutton; brothers, William Kenneth Sutton and Michael Sutton Sr.; sister-in-law, Virginia Evans Sutton; step-son, James Douglas Harper; step-grandson Billie Thurman Harper.
She is survived by her daughter, Christy Harper Moody and significant other, Lenny Mohr of Richlands; grandson, Ashton Moody of Greenville; granddaughter, Maylen Moody and fiancé Alex Vincent of Kinston; great granddaughter, Madalyn Blair Vincent; brother Roger L. Sutton; step-son, Steven Rex Harper and wife Debbie of Ayden; step-daughter, Connie Harper Coley and husband Doug of Ayden and faithful fur baby Chloe.
Dean also leaves behind sisters-in-law, Sue Boyette Sutton of Trenton and Shirley Roberson Sutton of New Bern and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
