Carolyn Simpson (Taylor) Howard

Carolyn Taylor Howard, 87, of Richlands, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Spring Arbor in Kinston.  She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. “Douglas” Howard and sister Linda Futrell. 

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Howard Huffman (Dwight) and Pamela Howard Anderson (Michael) and son Gregory Douglas Howard; grandchildren, Justin Huffman (Elizabeth), Zachary Huffman (Jessica), Kristin Litzenberger (Davis), Douglas Henry Howard and Elizabeth Reeve Howard; great-grandchildren, Harper Huffman, Hudson Huffman, Aiden Huffman and Graham Litzenberger; brother, David Taylor (Pam)  and brother-in-law, Jesse Futrell.

Carolyn was the cornerstone of her family.  She taught her children the importance of family and demonstrated to them how to love their children fully, selflessly and fiercely.  There is no place she would rather be than in the middle of a big family event.  She will be missed, but her love will be carried in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Pink Hill Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Pink Hill Funeral Home with interment following at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill.
