Betty Lou (Whaley) Howard

Betty Lou Whaley Howard, 87, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix Clayton Whaley and Evelyn Hope Whaley; sister, Jean Jones Smith and son-in-law, Jimmy Cole.

 Betty Lou is survived by her husband, of 72 years, Harvey Plato Howard ; 5 children: Dean Simpson (Joey); Gail Cole; Harvey Howard, Jr. (Carolyn); RC Howard (Samantha); and Cindy Rice (Phil).  6 grandchildren: Nikki Howard, Jacob Howard, Ava Howard, Kasey  Frizzell (Jason), Katlyn Howard, Joshua Rice (Ashley) and 6 great-grandchildren.  She also had special nieces, nephews and other relatives whom she loved dearly.

She loved college basketball and was a true-blue Carolina fan!!!

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Pink Hill Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Woodington Ward.  Internment following funeral service at the church.

The family wishes to thank friends and family for all the visits, food and support during her illness.  A special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and staff for their excellent care.
