Betsy Rouse Tyndall

Betsy Lee Rouse Tyndall, of 596 Jonestown Road, Pink Hill passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the age of 83.  Betsy retired after 42 years as bookkeeper for Sanders Equipment Co. and Neuse River New Holland, the Ford Tractor Dealers in Kinston.  She was the daughter of Arthur and Audrey Sanderson Rouse of the Sharon Church Community.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years Lynwood Franklin Tyndall; her paternal grandparents, John and Emma Odham Rouse; her maternal grandparents, John and Cora Moore Sanderson; a niece Pamela Jo Rouse; brothers -in-law, Robert Keith Tyndall and David Clifton Tyndall; her in-laws, Linwood and Carrie Stroud Tyndall.

Betsy is survived by her two sons: Darron Franklin Tyndall and friend Margaret Frank, and Lynwood Craig Tyndall and wife Renee all of Deep Run; two grandchildren, Colton Ellington Tyndall and Lindsey Blake Tyndall of Deep Run;  her brother, Walter Arthur Rouse and wife Lucy of TN; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Tyndall Howard of Deep Run, Teresa Tyndall Morris and husband Victor,  Annette Turner Tyndall of Pink Hill, and Ann Waller Tyndall of Kinston; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Betsy was a 1957 graduate of Contentnea High School and cherished all her classmates and their spouses as her brothers and sisters.  She worked effortlessly over the years planning class reunions, keeping her class in touch throughout the years.  She served for many years as treasurer of the Contentnea Alumni Association, served as treasurer of the Altrusa Club of Kinston and a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she had served as church clerk.

Funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, 236 Jonestown Road, Pink Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October16, 2022 with visitation following the service.  Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Westview Cemetery in Kinston.
