Naomi Catherine Howard, born June 23, 1924, entered Heaven’s gates on September 14, 2018
Born in Deep Run, North Carolina to the late Jonas Claude Kennedy and Orpha Francis (Fanny) Kennedy she is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Eddie, Herman, George, sisters, Evelyn, Maggie and Ruth. She was married to Rev. Ben Howard for 54 years who preceded her in September, 2000.
She was an employee of Glen Raven Mills in Kinston, NC and Holt Hosiery in Penderlea, NC. She and her husband were owners of The Little Kitchen Restaurant in Wallace NC and Burgaw, NC. But better known for their work as pastors for numerous churches in eastern North Carolina with Rev. Ruben Jones, and since 1958 with the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Churches.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Bobby Howard (Bernice) and Dr. Dempsey Howard all of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Wendy Moore (Kevin), Sherry Gentry (Gregg), Ryan Howard, Jayme Howard; great- grandchildren, Addison Gentry, Skylar Gentry and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday September 24, 2018 at Pink Hill Funeral Home, Pink Hill, NC Burial immediately after services at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Pink Hill, NC. Visitation will be held one hour before funeral services.
