PINK HILL, NC- Margaret Ann Tyndall, 82, of Pink Hill passed away at Lenoir Memorial Hospital on Sunday December 26, 2010. Margaret Ann was born in Decatur, Alabama on June 18, 1928 to the late Eugene Collier and Pluma King. After graduation from Pink Hill High School, she attended and graduated from Women's College of Greensboro (UNC-G). Margaret Ann retired after a 30 year career with the Lenoir County Public Schools, teaching at Deep Run, Pink Hill, and South Lenoir. Her teaching was an inspiration to hundreds of young people throughout the area. Margaret Ann was an active member of the Pink Hill United Methodist Church and the Lenoir County Historical Association. In retirement, she enjoyed quilting, sewing crafts, gardening, and her pets. She was married for 55 years to the late Wilbur Andrew Tyndall, her high school sweetheart and love of her life. Margaret Ann is survived by a son, Cliff Tyndall and his wife , Mary, of Wilmington and a daughter, Cathy Tyndall and her husband Edward Williams, of Asheville, and one granddaughter, Emma Smith, of Asheville, and two cats, Buster and Maggie. A memorial service will be conducted at the Pink Hill United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Tuesday December 28th. The family will receive guests at the church fellowship hall immediately following the conclusion of the service. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m.on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Pink Hill United Methodist Church. Visitation will follow the service.
