Larry Wayne Rogers, 69, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville following a brief illness.
He is survived by his sister, LaRita Cox and husband Ronnie; nephews, Shawn Smith and wife, Pam, and Steve Smith; and his Yorkie buddy, Spike; and many close friends.
Born and raised in Durham, Larry was the son of Pauline and Ludlow Rogers; he was a long-time resident of Durham and Pink Hill. He graduated from Durham High School, Fork Union Military Academy and Sandhills Community College.
Larry worked at General Telephone, Durham Sporting Goods and Coke Cola for many years, and then came to Pink Hill to help his brother-in-law, Ronnie Cox on the family farm.
Larry was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Jonestown Road.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church in Pink Hill, followed by visitation and burial at the Cox Family Cemetery.
