Hattie Turner Obituary

PINK HILL--Hattie Lee Herring Turner, 91, of Pink Hill passed away Friday, December 24, 2010. Born in Duplin County on May 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Jannie S. Herring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Faison S. Turner, brothers W.T. Herring and Bob S. Herring, and sisters Marie H. Yarboro and Annie Mae Martin. She was a member of Pink Hill Presbyterian Church and past member of the Eastern Star. She was known to all as a meticulous gardener and a superb cook. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a devoted and caring friend. Survivors include her son Ben S. Turner and his wife Linda of Rocky Mount; her daughter Annette T. Tyndall and her husband Robert "Bobby" of Pink Hill; granddaughters Lee Ann Tyndall of Pink Hill and Amanda T. Cariveau and her husband Mickael of Mount Olive; grandsons James F. Turner and his wife Robin of Danville, VA, and Ryan K. Tyndall of Washington, DC; great-granddaughters Sarah and Caroline Turner of Danville, VA; great-grandson Ethan Cariveau of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Pink Hill Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 3 p.m. at Pink Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Ann Brinson will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill. Memorials may be made to Pink Hill Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 357, Pink Hill, NC

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Pink Hill Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 29, 2010 at Pink Hill Funeral Home.
