Edward Harrell Thigpen, 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Lenoir Assisted Living .  He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Thigpen.

Edward is survived by his daughter, Kay Whitley and husband Johnny of LaGrange; and son, Darrell Thigpen and special friend Phyllis Harrison of LaGrange; grandchildren, Johnathan Whitley and wife Brooke, Tracy Nicole Fields and husband Skyler; great-grandchildren, Spencer Corey and a little one on the way; brothers, Earl and Hollis Thigpen.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Sandy Plain OFWB Church in Pink Hill.   Memorial service will follow the visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandy Plain OFWB Church Building Fund, 949 NC Hwy 241, Pink Hill, NC, 28572.
